A Day in Real Estate: Doing What’s Right

Here’s a look at how I handle a property before we turn it over.

I was out doing my rounds, and I figured I’d show you how I get a property ready. When you turn over a property, you have to make sure that everything is working right. People don’t want to move into a house and find out that something isn’t working.

For this property, the smoke detector was one of those things. I changed the batteries in it, checked the wiring, and it still doesn’t seem to be working, so I’ll have to order new ones.

Do I need to be out here at 8 p.m. checking on all the properties we have? No, but it’s the right thing to do. It’s my way of going above and beyond.

Think about how much better the world would be if everyone went above and beyond sometimes. Try it; do something you don’t have to do that will make someone else happy.
